Big Brother 6/13/2014

What exactly is the objective of big brother, and how is it different than the other million reality TV shows?
Big Brother is a cast of twelve people isolated from the outside world; trapped inside a house and competing for half a million dollars. The house guests are imprisoned to the stress that the house brings upon them. The Big Brother game is not just physical. There are a lot of tears shedding, opinion telling, offence taking, and arrogance undergoing place within the house 24/7. The people in the house align themselves with one another to gain safety for another week, and a better chance of getting to the end where the money is. The last one standing through the mind games of drama, brain stimulating quizzes, and brutal physical competitions wins it all!
The women are usually portrayed as broads with great bikini bods. Then, very awkwardly, there is a grandma thrown in the mix. The men are split up in two groups; the geeks and the muscle freaks! The stereotypes on this show are rather ridiculous, but the drama and competitions make up for the lack of originality within the household. The Big Brother house causes a lot of tension for controversy to uphold by feelings constantly getting hurt. The mentally unstable gets stomped on, and strong mentalities always come out on top. One of the main objectives of this game is having a lot of communicating skills, backing up your lies, and aligning yourself with the right people.
The other main objective of playing Big Brother is winning competitions. There are three different competitions throughout the season. First off, the house guests compete in the "Head of Household" competition. The "Head of Household" competition determines who has the power over the house. The one house guest that wins this competition has full immunity, and their own master bedroom upstairs. The winner receives a basket of their favorite goodies, and a letter from home to help their spirits throughout the game. The winner of the “Head of Household” competition also places two house guests on the "block". The block is where two people are nominated and one gets voted to be sent home. In the "Power of Veto" competition you have a chance to fight for your stay in the Big Brother house. The two nominees on the block, head of household, and four other house guests compete to win the "Power of Veto". The "Power of Veto” holds the power of being able to take yourself or someone else off the block if chosen to do so. Then, there is the "Have Not" competition. The "Have Not" competitions determine what half of the house eats, and what half does not. The losing team has a few different, but rather disgusting foods they are able to eat. The losing team also has to shower with ice cold water, and sleep in a room made especially for discomfort. The winning team is safe for another couple weeks from the agonizing irritation that Big Brother throws their way.
After all of the tough competitions; at the end of every two weeks it’s elimination time. One of the two nominees on the block will be eliminated. How do they get eliminated? The house guests, besides for the Head of Household, vote for the person they don’t want in the house any longer. In the beginning of the game it is usually a household decision on who goes home. Voting becomes diverse after alliances have become final, and people realize what their fellow competition in the house is made of. The best way to vote is to eliminate a strong player that you believe could win the game. At the end of the day, no one is there to make friends. It’s all about the money, baby!
A game is usually not easy, especially when it is for big money, and just like other games there are twists. A twist in the game comes out of the blue, and follows the Big Brother motto “Expect the Unexpected”.  These twists are always a huge game changer which means the house guests should never feel safe. These happenings can cause the Head of Household risk of going home later that week even though he was granted with full immunity. The twists and turns keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time while watching. You will be impatiently waiting for the next show to air as the excitement comes in ounces!
Your job is to sit back with your favorite snack, and enjoy! Pick your favorite people or alliance in the Big Brother house to follow and root for. This show has definitely surpassed in ratings and originality over any other reality game show. You do not have to start on the first season to watch this show as there are different cast members on each season. The difference between Big Brother and other shows is that you are able to watch the house guests any time of any day. Creepy, huh?! Live feeds air in HD on the Big Brother website, and it’s the best way to never miss a thing.

Big Brother isn’t just a show; it’s also a lifestyle – well for the guests that is! Don’t miss out on a show where the people are puppets, and you can pull the strings. Tune in on CBS on June 25, 2014 for that is the season premiere of Big Brother season 16.
